The Sydney International Boat Show

Today was a beautiful sunny day in Sydney and we chose to spend it wandering the crowded floating lanes of the Sydney International Boat Show.

In one word. Wow.

In two. Wow & Manic.

I am not sure whether it was the sunshine that encouraged the thousands to flock today, but one can be assured... there were THOUSANDS.

As for the boats, well, they were amazing. We had such a lovely day imagining we were rich and could easily afford "a little over $2 million" for a beautiful Grand Banks cruiser. Yes, the skipper did say it was for sale for "a little over $2 million", whatever that means.

Here is some pics from today.

Ahhh, one day... but in the meantime, all we can do is dream.

Wedding Invite: Leaked!

Kim and Kris' wedding invite leaked! I don't know about you guys but I am a sucker for Kardashian news! I am the hugest fan (even if I do remain in the closet about it)! TMZ released this pic.

I cant wait to see what this wedding will involve. With Kim and the rest of the crazy clan in on the wedding plans, its bound to be a juicy affair!

Joe is coming to Sydney!

I love Joe and K is an even bigger fan so we were super excited to hear that Joe is coming to Sydney in September. Tickets are only $75 from Ticketmaster. The show will be at the Big Top Luna Park.

What is your favourite Joe song? I think my favourite is Heart Behind My Eyes. So old school but so good.

It helps that he is a bit of a spunk.

Is anyone else going to the concert?

They call me mellow yellow...

I love yellow. It is such a positive happy colour. I am inspired by all things yellow today. I think I am missing the sunshine... Sydney is ridiculously rainy and grey at the moment!

I had yellow heels a few years ago... there were amaze. I think I wore them once, before they became filthy and I was forced to send them to the back of the wardrobe.

My sister recently fell over while she was running in Centennial Park and grazed her knees and hands. Then, less than a week later, she was riding her bike and flew over the handle bars after hitting a rock on the footpath. Ouch. This looks so painful.

Poor darling. Get better.

Masterchef: Bummer!

I cant believe Hayden got eliminated from Masterchef! He is soooo great. I am sad. :(

I am really looking forward to great things from him in the near future though. His own show? Perfect!

Sooki the Terrible

Sooki was originally called Betty Spaghetti because she was so long and slim, until she cried all day everyday for a week. We changed her name to Sooki. How were we to know she would turn out to be more like a devil dog than a sweet sook of a pup.

The damage bill for bringing this canine creature into the family home is coming up to $2000. The plastic cafe blinds around the pergola. Ruined. The beautiful day bed mattress in the pergola. Torn to shreds (see pic below). The sprinkler system in the garden. Destroyed. The coffee table. Chewed. The antique wooden church pew. Also chewed.

Let's not forget about the multitude of socks, towels, toilet paper rolls, shoes, sponges and washing she has stolen out of the clothes basket and consumed. She eats anything she can get her paws on, including the cat poo she decided to roll in on the weekend. I wish I had of taken a photo of that.

How can puppy's be so naughty but oh so cute?

Birthday Sum Up

As I said, I had a great birthday weekend and I wanted to share it!

If anyone hasn't been to the Beresford Hotel in Surry Hills, I highly recommend it. They recently opened an upstairs section, appropriately called 'Upstairs' and I thought it was BANGING! Such a great space and if you can get there early on a Friday night and snag one of the few raised booths, then you are set for the whole evening.

Following a very drunken trek to the next bar (of which I have no idea what or where it was), we ended up at NEVERMIND on Oxford Street. Still reeling about their recent surprise visit from Lady Gaga, the club was small and intimate, but we had a blast!

After waking up the next afternoon (ouch!), we had dinner at Opah Greek Restaurant in Cronulla! Great food. Great vibe.

Sunday was family dinner at home with my family and K's and it was great. K bought me an amazing state of the art magic pack from GHD. I love curls and have been wanting a GHD forever so I was very happy and K was so proud of himself for choosing such a great gift for me. Bless. Check it out!

I also received a beautiful piece of Elk jewellery from my brother and sister. I love Elk products and I cant wait to wear it.

My parents bought me some wonderful things for my glory box and our big move, including a beautiful 500 thread count sheet set and 100 piece cutlery set from Stanley Rogers. Perfect.

On Monday, K took me out for a surprise dinner at BayBlu on Tom Ugly's Bridge. It was delicious. We ordered our first ever seafood platter with a few cocktails on the side.

Thank you to K and my family and friends for a wonderful 28th birthday.

Today is my 28th birthday!

Yay!! It's been a lovely day and a very big celebratory weekend! Today I slept in and was late to work, then I had my favourite lentil soup for lunch and a coconut AND chocolate macaroon for afternoon tea! Delicious! To top it all off, K is taking me out for a surprise dinner.

I am really looking forward to what this year will bring. Positivity and happiness is what I want!

Day off work: Ikea adventure

Yesterday K and I had the day off work and we decided to spend it visiting Ikea. Ohhh Ikea. I would never attempt to go on the weekend, and even on a Wednesday it was mayhem, but I do love it!

We bought 10 glasses at 80 cents each, some other kitchen supplies, two side tables (very basic but still great) and a vase all for the grand total of $55. See why I love it now?

We have written a list of all the things we need before we move in and it is slowly getting shorter as we tick off our new purchases. Buying things for our new home is getting very exciting and keeps us motivated to spend our money on the important things and not too many cocktails over the weekend. (NB: This weekend is an exception because its my birthday!)

Next time we go back we will take the floor plan of our unit with us so we can actually measure where we will put the bookshelf, computer desk, wall shelves and TV cabinet we have our eye on!

I think I am really starting to 'nest' as my Mum would say.

Live life by the Holstee Manifesto…

A few months ago, my darling friend moved to Tokyo (right after the earthquakes – brave girl) and before she left, she gave me the Holstee Manifesto. She blew it up and plastered it right beside my desk in my office. Since then, it has been watching over me and my stressful days at work. I look at it every day. I think the word ‘life’ in big bold text reminds me to go home at night. For those of you who have never heard of it… you can find it here.

In the news: Beckhams Baby Girl

I just read that the Beckhams have named their new baby girl Harper Seven. Harper is my baby girl name which I have wanted forever!!! Now if I name my baby Harper, everyone will think I named my baby after the Beckhams Baby.

Not that I am pregnant or anything but still! I hate it when this happens.

Girl Crush: Blake Lively

Ever since I fell I fell in love with Serena van der Woodsen, the sexy but slightly twisted character in Gossip Girl, I have watched her every move. She is Ah-Mah-Zing. My girlfriend and I often send Blake photos over email and go green with envy at how stunning she is in each one. This shoot from Glamour magazine is perfect.

And her legs... truly. I wish for these legs every night when I go to bed.

Love this Marchesa number!

 Time 100 Gala...

And most recently for the BAFTAS... stunning!
